View plugin information and update plugins directly from the Dashboard

You can review installed plugins and manage your website plugins directly from the Dashboard. Our platform collects plugin information for each website at regular intervals.

There are several ways to manage your plugins, either via the dedicated plugin management screen or via the Website Overview screen.

View plugin information

  • Select your working environment Production or Staging.

  • Navigate to your website's Plugins screen.

  • Each plugin is listed with the following details:

    • Name: The name of the plugin (e.g., Advanced Custom Fields, Akismet etc.).

    • Status: Indicates whether the plugin is Active or Disabled.

    • Updates: The current plugin version and whether there is an update available. If an update is available you can click Update, to update the plugin to the latest available version. You can inspect the plugin change-log via the Changelog link. This helps in understanding what changes or improvements have been made in the latest version and whether there are any breaking changes.

  • You can toggle the list view to display Active, Inactive or plugins with updates (Update Available), by selecting the respective option in the Show drop-down filter or by using the tab selection link.

  • You can toggle the list view to display plugins with potential security issues by selecting the With Issues filter option.

Update a plugin

  • To update individual plugins, one at a time, locate the Update Available menu for each plugin (displayed when a plugin has an update available) and click the "Update" link. A background job will start to update the plugin, and you will receive a Dashboard notification when the process is completed.

  • We automatically create an Instant Backup before the plugin update so that you can rollback to in case the update causes issues with your website.

Update all plugins

  • You can update all outdated plugins at once by clicking the Update All link. A background job will start to update all plugins with available updates, and you will receive a Dashboard notification when the process is completed.

  • We automatically create an Instant Backup before starting the bulk update so that you can rollback to in case the update(s) cause issues with your website.

Update one or more plugin(s) at once

  • You can update multiple plugins at once by selecting the respective plugins in the list and executing the Update action located in the Bulk Actions drop-down. A background job will start to update selected plugins with available updates, and you will receive a Dashboard notification when the process is completed.

  • We automatically create an Instant Backup before starting the bulk update so that you can rollback to in case the update(s) cause issues with your website.

Activate or Deactivate a plugin

  • To activate or deactivate individual plugins, one at a time, toggle the Status switch for each plugin. A background job will start to update the plugin status, and you will receive a Dashboard notification when the process is completed.

  • We automatically create an Instant Backup before the plugin update so that you can rollback to in case the update causes issues with your website.

Activate or deactivate multiple plugin(s) at once

  • You can activate or deactivate multiple plugins at once by selecting the respective plugins in the list and executing the Activate or Deactivate action located in the Bulk Actions drop-down. A background job will start to update the status for the selected plugins, and you will receive a Dashboard notification when the process is completed.

  • We automatically create an Instant Backup before starting the bulk status update so that you can rollback to in case the update(s) cause issues with your website.

View plugin information

  • Navigate to your website's Overview screen.

  • Select your working environment Production or Staging.

  • Locate the Plugins section on the right-hand side. By default, the plugin list displays plugins that have an update available. To view a list of all plugins select "All" from the drop-down "Show" menu.

  • Each plugin is listed with the following details:

    • Name: The name of the plugin (e.g., Advanced Custom Fields, Akismet etc.).

    • Status: Indicates whether the plugin is Active or Disabled.

    • Update link: Provides an option to update the plugin.

    • Changelog link: Allows you to view the changelog for the plugin. This helps in understanding what changes or improvements have been made in the latest version and whether there are any breaking changes.

  • You can toggle the list view to display Active, Disabled or plugins with updates (Outdated), by selecting the respective option in the Show drop-down filter.

  • You can toggle the list view to display plugins with potential security issues by selecting the With Security Issues filter option.

Inspect plugins with potential security issues (vulnerabilities)

Our platform performs regular automated security scans to identify plugins with potential security issues. If such plugins are detected, a security alert is displayed at the top of the Plugins list to help you identify and prioritize plugin updates that need immediate attention due to vulnerabilities.

  • You can quickly inspect plugins with potential security issues by selecting With Security Issues from the drop-down "Show" menu.

  • We strongly recommend updating plugins with security issues as soon as possible to avoid the possibility of being exploited and keep your website safe.
