Optimise website delivery via CDN
A Content Delivery Network is a network of geographically dispersed servers, that deliver content globally. With a CDN your website’s assets are automatically copied and replicated to all servers of the CDN. These servers (called edge servers) hold cached copies of your website’s static content (images, videos, file downloads, Javascript, CSS, etc) and serve a particular geographic region of users. So when a visitor visits your website, their request gets redirected, and the content is delivered via the closest CDN server geographically.
It makes sense to use a CDN service only if your WordPress site uses a lot of images, file downloads, or videos.
You can enable it via our Dashboard very easily:
To enable the CDN service
Note: This guide applies to websites using our Advanced Network.
For websites on Pressidium’s EDGE NextGen Network, CDN is automatically enabled and no manual action is required.
- Select the Websites menu option from the Dashboard sidebar.
- Click on your website’s name to go to the website overview.
- Verify the environment to apply the change, by checking out the currently selected environment in the navigation bar. CDN service can be enabled for the Production environment only.
- Click on the Settings menu.

Switch on CDN in the CDN section. In order to be able to enable the CDN serviceat least one, non redirect, domain must be added to your website. A confirmation modal will appear to verify the status update.
Click Enable CDN to enable CDN for all non-redirect domains in the website.
You can also enable or disable the CDN service for a single domain.

Where to go next
- Enable the CDN service if you need the dashboard-specific steps for enabling CDN on your site.
- Review how page cache works to understand how cached pages and static assets work together.
- Identify cache behavior using HTTP headers if you need to verify whether content is being served from cache.
- Set up your domain and DNS records if CDN activation is blocked because no non-redirect domain has been added.
