Manually create an archive for migration
To create a migration archive manually, all you have to do is create a ZIP archive that must contain the following:
- Your WordPress
wp-contentfolder containing folders:plugins, themes, uploads - A Database dump file named
database.sqlorwp-content/mysqldb-dump.sql - A
wp-config.phpfile specifying the table prefix. This must match the table prefix in your database dump file
We suggest that you use the Duplicator plugin. However, there are cases where the plugin could fail.
If that happens, you can still create an archive manually by either accessing your WordPress site files via SFTP, or by using Pressidium’s Instant Backups.

If you are not sure whether your archive contains the right files, or the Migration Wizard cannot import it, contact our Support team before trying another upload.
Where to go next
- Check which formats the Migration Wizard supports before packaging or uploading your archive.
- Use the Migration Wizard for DIY migrations after your archive is ready.
- Back up or export your database if you need to prepare a database file for the archive.
- Test your migrated site before switching DNS after the migration is complete.
